Foundation Center provides research, data, data visualization tools and convening's in support of the philanthropic community. These tools and services are all designed and promoted to ensure that philanthropy is equipped with resources and connections to make strategic investments.
Beyond the provision of functional and practical tools, Foundation Center seeks to ensure that the contributions of philanthropy to making the world a better place are widely known. For our part, here in Cleveland, we support these efforts in a variety of ways. Consider the following as a sample:
Research
Foundation Center-Cleveland (in collaboration with the George Gund Foundation, the Burton D. Morgan Foundation and Cleveland State University) produces the Economic Development Report. This snapshot highlights the strategic philanthropic investments of foundations from throughout Ohio in this field of giving. Further research in this area will serve to explore the outcomes and impacts of these investments. In doing so, Ohio philanthropies will be showcased as innovators with respect to economic development grantmaking.
Blogs
Foundation Center-Cleveland communicates philanthropy’s contributions to our communities through our blog postings.
Special Programming
Special Programming, such as our Rising Tide series, provides a public forum in which philanthropy can highlight its engagement (financial, philosophical and programmatic) on important and current social issues impacting our community and its residents.
The power and impact of philanthropic investments has and continues to transform our world in innumerable ways. For our part, Foundation Center-Cleveland will continue to communicate and promote these efforts.
As always, be focused on knowledge, innovation and impact!
John Patrick Bailey, Ph.D.
Director-Cleveland
